I have a '82 CJ7, 4.2L. Engine. Installed system and seemed to run ok, but running rich. Engine was rebuilt late last year, it has about 5,000 miles on it. I upgraded ignition to HEI from Pro Comp. It's running rich, so bad that when I start it on a cold morning it's actually missing and the exhaust is black. The tail pipe is sooty black and getting a rich exhaust code. O2 replaced about 3 months ago. Now getting a check engine light (only in 5th gear). When I come to idle light goes out. I can drive for miles in any gear up to 4th, light will not come on, within 1 minute in 5th light comes on. I have 9lbs fuel pressure at throttle body. Removed fuel return line and ran it into a 5 gal gas can (thought it might have a restriction) made no difference. Block learn # 113 @ 1700 rpm 02 voltage 700mv open loop, Idle rpm 700, Learn # @ idle 110, accelerate/decelerate goes to closed loop 02 voltage switching between 200 & 700 mv. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you are running rich, fuel supply is not your issue.

First Howell I put on, lo so many years ago, I went through 2 or 3 O2 sensors thinking they were the problem before I found a wire shorting out under the hood. I too was having rich problems, and general oddball running issues. Once I found the pinched wire, I loved driving that thing like never before.

MY JEEP IS DOING THE SAME THING I CAN NOT FIGER IT OUT IT IS SO RICH IT FOULS PLUGS I THINK I MIGHT LOOK FOR THE WIRE ISSUE I HAE WHENT OVER BLOCK LEARN # WITHE HOWLL THEY SAY IT SHOULD RUN FINE IT HAS BEEN LIKE THIS FOR THREE YEARS NO ONE CAN TELL ME WHATS WRONG THANKS FOR THE NEXT THING TO LOOK FOR WILLEYS
