Hello all,
I recently purchased a 2010 Rubicon Unlimited. I am working on fully customizing my jeep but I can not come to a decision on what lift to go with. I would like room for 35 inch tires so a 3"-4" lift. I am very focused on the on road ride. I want a lift that has all of the components to have very minimal bump steer and drift. I do also want good articulation and offroad ride but I want it to handle as much like stock on the highway as possible so my wife doesn't freak out when she drives it. Should I buy a package lift or build one of my own components, do I need upper and lower control arms, high steer kit? Any info would help, I am willing to spend a little money to get what I am looking for. Let me know what you guys think. Also what cv driveshafts should I use with what lift. Thanks

There are several ways to do this. But If you don't plan on adding a winch or front bumper you can get by with spacers and shock extensions. This will provide the best ride. However, the factory front coils can't hold the added weight of the heavy winch and bumper. So if you go with a full-on 3-4-inch lift kit with new coils and all you should really look into getting new double-cardan U-jointed driveshafts front and rear along with at least adjustable upper arms to correct pinion angle and caster.
Stock steering can work fine. But you will want a new adjustable track bar up front and a relocation bracket in the rear. Also look for monotube shocks for best performance. Check out the Mopar lift kit or the Black Diamond kit.

Thanks for the tips, would you happen to have any recommendations on installers in the St.Louis area?
