i was wondering how much people are paying for someone to install an 8 inch lift on a cherokee. i have a garage and a customer wants me to give him an estimate on installing his lift. i would be putting a slip yoke elimimator kit in the transfer case also. its a 1999 xj. i dont usually take on jobs like this, but have rebuilt my jeep a couple times over now and feel comfortable doing the work. 8 inches is pretty extreme and would like feedback from people that have done it. i have $1500 in my head. what do any of you think.

it depends on how long the lift says it takes to put on, your probably looking at 6 to 8 hours minimum

Nope! never taken my vehicle to the shop, allways done my own work. Here in central MO local shops charge 50-80 an hour, that's book time and ASCS cert. mechanics. I'd be tickled to get 30 an hour from someone who actually paid. 8" sounds pretty involved. I think springs and slip yoke will be the easy part compared to the steering. How complete is the lift kit? Long arm I hope.
