Headlight Reflector Assembly

Anyone know how to replace this without altering the headlight aim?  I've gone thru 3 headlight bulbs because of water leaking into the reflector assembly.  I bought replacements from a local Car Quest that came with bulbs preinstalled.  I've looked into the owner's manual but it gives no mention of how to replace the assembly.

The adjuster screws on older rigs are different from the ones that are used to change the light bulbs. I don't know about the neweer ones. What is the big deal? Change them out and take it to a repair shop and have the head lights adjusted.

Well the big deal is looking at the back of the replacement I bought shows 3 mounting points one of which slides up and down.  Yet looking at the back of the radiator support shows just 2 holes for what looks like you'd need a deep socket leaving the third point hidden behind the support.  Feeling into the 2 holes reveals a threaded shaft.  Just above both shafts is a torx head bolt for what I assume is used to adjust the aim of the assembly which leaves the question of where to disconnect the third point.  Is there a trick?  A hidden point somewhere?  Do I have to remove the turn signal assembly to get at it?

I have a 04 Rubicon. It sounds like I don't want to have your problem. Like I said in my other post, The older headlights sound alot easier to change. I guess that I will have your delema some day. I had a similar problem tryng to figure out how to get my dash board apart. I ended going to the Jeep dealer and getting an exploded view of the dash from the parts department. Then I had to plead with the service manager to let me talk with one of teck's that changes radio's.  After about an hour I got what I needed. Sorry I can't help whith your problem.

Well I finally found a Haynes manual for my Grand (#50025) and it says I have to remove my radiator grille first then grab the housing and sharply pull back on it.  Apparently they're mounted on studs that snap into the mounting points on the back of the housing.  But for '99's and later (WK's) there's just a simple jackscrew that must be removed then the housing can be yanked out.

yeah exactly, just remove the grille and pop it out, pretty simple, just be careful of the studs, sometimes the clips stay on the studs and need to be removed separately, also careful the plastic base doesn't break like on mine, you'll never get the headlight to line up in the studs or to stay still if u hit a big enough bump

Well I finally got the assemblies on and man what a struggle!  First I didn't remove the grille instead I took off the side markers then yanked the housings out.  I lined up the sockets with the ball studs then pushed......and pushed and pushed.  Finally the top one popped in then the lower then the corner...shattered.  Yeap the plastic socket on the end did not just crack or break but shattered.  I had to first cut off the carrier around the plastic socket on the old housing then cut it out using a side cutter pliars coz I don't have a Dremel tool.  Took me about an hour to cut thru the plastic.  Man that oem plastic is tough!  Then finally I slid the old socket in the new housing then all popped in.  Luckily the passenger side was easy and nothing broke that time and all went quickly and easily.  Man I had a 'yota before this Grand and changing the sealed beam headlights on that was much much easier.
