Some one pass along a little advice please. This is my first jeep. A 93 yj 4 banger with 5 spd. Every thing is stock for now. I plan on putting on 33's  with a 4 inch lift kit. and gears. I might even swap in a different front end so I can put lock outs on it. I all ready plan on beefing up the axle housings. I'm a pretty good welder.(certified).

Any information anyone has would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerly

why do you want lockouts?

the only real reason is if you want a limited slip in front, but you didn't mention that.

your dana 35 rear would probably give problems before your 30 up front

Hey, Dude u dont need a 4 inch lift and 33's to get where you need to go. a 2 1/2 and 31 10.50s are fine. The Dana 35 in the back isnt the best axel to be running 33 anyway. All you need is a 2 1/2 inch lift maybe a 100$ 1 inch body lift, all that is around 600 bucks. O' and as for the four banger, put in a k&n filter it improves millage and you can feel the actual extra horse power.

they only way you feal the power from a K&N is if you needed a new filter

probably right on feeling the power, but i did gain mileage.  i keep a close eye on it.

drop in filter ... waste of $$.  cone is a cheap upgrade for the TJ, and does improve airflow.  there's no sensor's from the intake to the airbox (until at least '99, i think).  so you just grab the right size cone, cut the tube and stick it on.  was $75 canadian for me.

If you are planning on running 33's, there is a part that will give out before anything else will.  The transmission will be one of the first things to go wrong, that is if it is the stock AX-5.  The transmission is a piece of junk and should be the first item to be swapped out.  Personally I rebuilt my AX-5 twice before I realized it wasn't worth it.  Now I have a NV4500 in my '95 Wrangler.
