I would like to replace the worn seats in my 2000 TJ with the seats that come in the new Rubicon. I went to my local dealer to price one and was surprised when he said that they don't sell the whole seat, and if I wanted one I would have to buy the individual pieces (at a cost of $1,700.) and put it together myself.
So my question is does anyone know if they (Jeep) do in fact sell an entire seat and at what price or was the dealer correct when he said they only sell pieces? At those prices I might as well by a Recaro seat.
Any help would be appreciated.

Look for a wreck. I didn't know that the rubi had different seats, but I thought that all TJ's got different seats for that year. If they all did ... a wreck shouldn't be hard to find, if you're patient.

Check Ebay, lots of jeep parts for sale. Just don't get sucked into paying to much for shipping.
