Ok so I saw in one issue of jp the tj on 35s with no lift and was wondering how (if possible) I might go about that on my cherokee.  Any suggestions or am I the only crazy enough to contemplate this....Basiclly trying to get the biggest tire with the list lift and money invovled.  Woman decided to spit out a gremlin (kid) so money is tight.  Anyways if anyone as any input please make a post.

It would look really really dumb.

Looking stupid is ok as long as it works well. However in this case it would cost more to try that than the appropriate lift. There is not much room in the rear to trim out the fender wells adn in the front an XJ is much different than a TJ as far as the fenders and all go. I suppose it is possible but it would be very difficult and really not worth it. Besides that if you desire to go to a 35 + inch tire on an xj there are som many other things to consider than actually getting the tires to fit under the jeep..

I am gonna have to disagree with Joe. Theres a guy whos home I used to ride by every day and he had an early 90's xj. Now he may not have had exactly 35's on it but they were atleast 31's or 32's. I thought it looked pretty sweet. But its all in preference. If I were you I wouldn't go past 31's without a lift because thats about the easiest way to fit bigger tires. Besides the lift alternative.

Disagree with me? I didn't think he should put 35s w/o a lift on a cherokee. I agree with you 31 to 33 inch tires look perfect on a cherokee. I like that because you can wheel it and still hold the function of being able to roll up the windows, crank the air, and drive home at 70mph.

My buddy in fact just received his Rubi express 4.5 lift for his 92 XJ. We're gonna put that on sometime soon and he's only gonna run 31s. He doesn't want to regear for 33s.
