i have a 89 yj 4 cyl. and i have a low budget what can i do for my jeep? please help me!  

There is another thread on here about this same thing... I am sure you can find it but anyhow, you are pretty much screwed. A tune up and a header back may help SOME but it ain't cheap and it's a very minor increase. The old addage, "speed cost money, how fast do you want to go" is defininitely in effect. Without major mods and lots of $$ you are stuck with it..

if i cant get more power for my jeep can i do a swamp with a 4.0 L of a same year and sorry for my english ,i am a french guy  tank you!  

Swapping to the 4.0 is common however like all modifications it has it's difficulties. I am not positive if it will mate to the transmission you have so a transmission swap may have to go with it and you would probably want the AW4 or AX15 that is behind the 4.0 anyhow. I think the 2.5 liter has an ax-5(?) or something like that behind it? You would probably be better off selling the 4 cylinder and buying a 4.0 wrangler. In the long run I think it would be cheaper..

maybe changeing your axle gears would help, I donot know what ones you need. Maybe someone else can tell you.

toss in 5.13 gears in the axles. I mean you have a 4 whell drive 4 cylinder. it's gonna be slow.

I actually dig guys that have the little 4 popper and build the piss out of their jeeps that 2.5 is really reliable and with lower gears they work okay

Don't know if your still fightin no power out of your 2.5 but I know that 4.88 gears will wake that little bugger up!!  

I don't have a 4 cyl. Thank God. but yeah 4.88 or 5.13s would wake the sob up nicely.
