This is not that big a deal, but it really bothers me. I have a little rust between the door and the roof of my XJ. What do you guys recomend as a rust sealer or something else to put on it to keep it from getting worse? I want something the applys with a brush. I can't use a spray b/c its a small area. Any feed back would be great.

Thanks,

I used to see this stuff advertised in Car Craft and Super Chevy called POR-15.  I believe it's a three stage rust treatment that I personally have never used but have heard others rave about.  It won't make your rust go away but supposedly it will stop it quicker than a cop will stop you for driving beadlocks on the highway!  Good luck.

There has been much discussion over this in my ususal forum, POR 15 works great but it is a 3 stage and it is pretty pricey.  Eastwood has one that supposedly works well and rust encapsulator is another one that I have been told works well. Personally I use Hammerite rust cap and I have had great success with it over the past 10 years or so. It is hard to find, I get mine from here http://www.jamestowndistributors.com/

It goes about $68 or so a gallon adn comes in various colors.

Makes sense that stuff must be super hard for boats going in salt water.?

All of these are possibilities. I have also taken an orbital sander to the spot; sanded off; hit it with a zinc gel; then take spray on bedliner yes bed liner to the spot to seal it out and paint over that to camouflage.

This was on my 74 f250 in high school i did it to and it worked. Oh and you can spray anywhere you just have to do the masking and prepping work b4 hand.

Thanks for the info.  I had not heard of these things.  Remember when Naval Jelly was the way to go?
