My 4lo works fine ... completed a jeep jamboree with no issues.
My 4hi occasionally makes a grinding/slipping noise. I have avoided using it, but winter is coming on.
I have read that a bent linkage can cause this ... but i'd like to have a little more info before i dive in.
It's a '97 sport 4.0 5 spd.
Any help is appreciated.
PS. The problem didn't show up until after i had the transmission rebuilt and reinstalled.

check and make sure the the shift linkage has been properly. it might not be shifting all the in. I bent my linkage once 4hi worked good but it popped out in 4lo if not take it back to who rebuit it or at least reinstaled it and tell them to fix it if i worked before they worked on it.
