Has anybody out there swapped the 287 4.7L v8 from a 99 or later cherokee into a TJ???    Im thinking about doing this and was wondering of anybody can give me some input on this project and what modifications it will take??----thanks  

I know of a guy who swapped out his 4.0 L for a 4.7 L and stuffed it into a 2000 TJ.  He also replaced the transmission with an NV4500 and went to an Atlas 2 transfer case, and Custom high pinion Dana 60's. The process was pretty involved especially the wiring harness I'm told and a few custom pieces are needed such as a bellhousing, flywheel, etc.  Jeff's 4x4 (Jeffs4x4.com) in Ocala, FL did the swap for Scott Allen and his TJ.  If you go to his site it is the yellow  V8 TJ featured.  He could best tell you what was absolutely neccessary in completing the swap.  Scott is also a member of the Ocala Jeep Club (Ocalajeepclub.com) where you can find pictures along with links.
