I am looking for advice on a rear axle swap . I was tkinking of using a dana 44 from a isuzu . I like the disk brakes and the track width the price is defently right at 70$ ( I have a narrow trac CJ and I want wider axles) and don't mind the 6 on 5.5 bolt pattern, because I think I have found a waggy 44 for the front. My question is what are my options with a full float kit like warn, and changing the bolt pattern to 5 on 5.5 not a big deal (just like 5on5.5 on a jeep) espacily if I get the front end any help will be appricated.

If you go with the I D44, I'd keep it close to stock.

with all the aftermarket stuff your planning, just start with an aftermarket D60. It'll be lots stronger.

I want a full floating rear axle with lockout hubs(I flat tow a lot)  regardless of the axle. I can set the new gears my self and welding on the new spring pearches is easy. The most expensive part would be the fullfloat kit .What I really need to know is are the housings the same as a regular d44 where the kit would bolt on.

I doubt its the same. I bolts to the brake flange. your axle shaft lengths would have to be exectly the same too, or the shafts in the kit wouldn't fit.

Like I said, keep it stock or go all out. you can get a D60 set up for 5 on 5.

Why don't you call someone like randy's Ring and pinion and ask them?
