Hi Jeep brothers,
I'm looking for an axle housing vent fitting.
My jeep is a 1984 CJ7 with a Model 30 front axle.
This article was sold by Four Wheel Drive Hardware in 1996 (spring catalog) Inc under the # 5353495, but, is no more availble.
Has any one an idea ?
Thenks in advance;
Dan

just run a hose up above your high water line. those vent fittings aren't 100% water tight anyway

Get a pipe nipple 1/8" or 1/4" depending on the hole size from the local hardware store and either screw it in or drill and tap the hole to fit the nipple. Get your self a long chunk of hose and a inline fuel filter from the local parts store put the filter under the hood, run the hose to it. This will get the filter up out of any water. Do this for your transmission, transfer case and front axel as well Even if you don't wheel in deep water or mud often this will keep the dust and junk out.

The previous owner of my CJ7 took the vent fitting out and lost it.
The hole in the axle housing is already tapped because the vent fitting was also tapped.
For the moment my only solution is to get a vent fitting from a neighbour that own the same model and to machine another one from a brass hose.
The other solution was to find a resaller other than 4 Wheel part Hardware that had the part in stock. For the moment it's not find.
Thank for your answer.

Hi retired,
Build a jeep sell only assembly of parts for exemple Axles with all the hardware.
The most a part is small, the most it's hard to find it !

Well I tried. I am not sure but you may be able to go to your local wrecking yard and hunt down the vent from a used axel. Look at everything not just Jeep axels.
