I just became a Jeep TJ owner a couple months ago. Its only 42k miles for a '00 Sahara. I just ordered GoodYear 31" MT/Rs for the "copper diablo".

Sweet starter rig. You plan on lifting it at all in the future?

I plan to lift it for sure, the question is when and how much will it cost! haha Right now, I've got "sizerexia" ... I just looked at 33" BFs today at the tire store and was like "pfff... thats not THAT big!" ... haha To non-Jeepers, they are Monster Truck Size, but us? nah!
But for the coming winter, I need tires NOW, so without the lift, I'll get the 31s and get all the parts together for the lift, SYE, etc. and then do even larger wheels and just get new rubber for those.

Why don't you get a 2 inch coil spacer lift for right now dude they are super cheap and 32s would look good on it 33s would fit but be really stuffed. Here;

OK, so I'm new - so feel free to correct me, joejjeeep, et al. The coil spacers are just for a BODY LIFT to fit the larger tires versus doing a suspension lift - yes or no? I had read in Jp 'zine that you don't want to use the coil spacers? Will I have driveline vibration like I would with a suspension lift with the spacers?
It appears that every other article I read about TJs or like a couple issues ago in Jp 'zine, there is some info left out. Like the 20 things that will go wrong with your TJ... they address driveline vib and lifts and say don't just drop your transfer case - but they don't add that you should do the SYE and the Sped/Odom adj in the OBD for the larger size wheels over 30s. This is why I'm stuck. Much thanks, Jeepers!

Body lifts are WAY different than coil spacers. Coils spacers just sit on your stock coils they are like putting "hockey pucks on the coils not the body. If you add 2 inch coil spacers you should have NO vibrations at all. From what i have read from others 3 inches and below have no vibrations. Here is a picture of a coil spring with a spacer on it you'll notice the red "puck" sitting on the black coil.
Install is easy rent coils compressor from autozone compress the springs stick on the spacers take off the compressor and its done in like 1 hour. Hope this helps man i hope you lift it Jeeps were made for a little air. JJ

You can also get a 2" lift springs,thats what I am doing they only cost alittle more and come with 4 new shocks and boots! (I think it's like 150 bucks more for the one I am looking at.) My 96 springs are bound to be worn and sagging at least 1/2 to 1" so this should improve things a lot. I'm also going to get new poly bushings for my swaybars and maybe lower control arms. It should ride alot better then.
