Quick question, will the heads from and 82 amc 360 fit a 78-79 amc 304. I know, I know I can hear every one now, but the 360 is not rebuildable and the 304 is in great shape, the heads on the 360 are in better shape than those of the 304 which is why I want to use them.

So use them.  No big deal.  304 to 360 would be a different ball game.

Thanks, for the reply. But I am looking for some tech  info on weather or not the extra few cc's ( diameter of the head cavity) is going to decrease my compression too much ( i'm not sure there is a difference between the two even), as well will the increased valve size interfere with the cylinder on the 304. any help would be great.

what are specs on the ccs for the chamber...also is the 304 a zero deck block or is the piston slightly under the deck?

If I were a machine, I'd be a lot happier.

heads from amc 290 to 401 are all basically interchangeable. from 66 to 69 all 290, 343, and 390 heads were interchangeable. from 70 on all 304 to 401 heads are interchangeable, the 70 on being preferable because of there "dog-leg" design, which improved airflow. the main difference between the 66 to 69 and 70 on is the deck height, which is bigger on the 70 on.
