It all started with a starting problem, My 88 XJ  4.0l did not have any spark, so I imediatley checked the distributor to see if the rotor needed be to changed....low and behold the distributor bowl had oil in the bottom of it .... I headed out and bought a replacement (used) and changed it.... The Jeep started first shot....but after running some errands the next day the Jeep would not start again ...ended up being the same issue ..Oil is getting in the distributor.... Any feedback is greatly appreciated.....

I was just picking this over with another person here, you know, oil in strange places, Check all and any crank case vents, PCV, hoses and such. Something may be plugged up, so the pressure has to go someplace. I have seen other long stroke inline engines do crap like this, Like my 4.2, the old GM 230 & 235, and Fords inline 300 6, and who can forget Mopars 225 slant 6. Check it out, hope it helps.
