thanks guys, its only got 130k on it,but yu never know when they will sag.i think ill just go to the dealership and run the vin# and see whats its got to be safe.i did think about the buget boost for it,but it needs a better transfer case and other stuff first, its the fulltime one in it.but thats again for the info.

Im gonna buy the hansons bumper and a warn 9,000 pound winch next my self. then the LCAs from Rustys. and im not even gonna worry about gearing, i figure that ill just find a Rubi thats been smashed or some thing like that, and take the D44's outta it or ill just have a shop build me some D44's. But im sure after the winch and LCA's the motor will be needing a rebuild.

Yea im hoping that every thing will tighen up my sterring, i have so much play in it, or did i should say.  and yea i might have to take out the bolts near the coil since i dont know if i can clear my bracket around the coil. let along get off the nuts with out takin off the bolts on the side. But we'll see what happens. I have both my fenders off and plan on havin the tire off with it on Jack stands when i go to install it, just so i have some extra room to work with and so i dont wack my head as much...and its amazing at how much mud can get stuck up between those fenders and body...I have had my fenders off a few times cleaning it out and makes me wonder what it would be like if i hadnt ever had them off...

you've got the coolest zj ever made in my opinion(a side from the fulltime case) I bet it rides nice. One thing about lifts they will change the ride of your zj and not for the better. If it was me yes I'd do the mild 2" spacers that would ride nicer then a full onnlift. BTW how about some pics of your rig?

all you need is the wheel off that's plenty of room.

ill get some pic's here soon.its just a plain zj,i still have to find about the up country suspension at the dealer, but the orvis model is a fully loaded luxuary zj,atleast what they say.heated seats,trac-lock 3.73 gears, climate control, moon roof sun roof, leather seats,to me its a bit much for a jeep, but cool to have all the options.i got it cheap because of a dent behind the drivers passenger door, but for what it has and the miles,i figured 2k wasnt bad to pay for it.

Hell i paid $3500 for my 93 with 188,000 miles, manual windows and door locks, non tinted glass, stained drivers seat, faded out bumpers, street tires, pine needles stuck all over it, some what clean inside, cloth seats, basic sound system minus a aftermarket CD player, and a battery that was loose and would make the Jeep die as you drove it, along with a vaccume leak on the intake due to a bad hose... So yea, you got one HELL of a deal for 2K...Makes mine seem like a rip off what i paid 2 yrs ago for mine. But these ZJs are a strong bunch, im sportin 235,000 miles or so now and its still running on that 4.0. Just its a bit more dented now then she used to be, and uses a bit more oil then before,  but thats expected.

well the guy i got it from was a good friend who helps us out on our sprint car.we were all sitting around drinking and working on the car at the shop one night and i mentioned getting one,he told me he would sell it for what he had it it,he told me he paid 1500 for it and put new tires on it,and a few other things that added up to 2000,i thought he was joking around untill a few days later he asked me if i still wanted it for that price.he said he was serious about the price,so i went straight to the bank.i figured the motor, tranny and wiring harness was worth that much if i was to do a conversion, well i drove it around and i cant see cutting it up,its too nice and started looking into toys for it.i like the way it drives, havnt off-roaded it yet,but i know it wont let me down to the extent of how stock it is.i just wish they would make more aftermarket parts for it,everything is about the same.

Check out Rustys Off Road, or Kevins Jeep parts. www.rustysoffroad.com and www.kevinsjeep.com i think is the kevins adress. Also, ARB, Trail Ready and Hanson make winch bumpers for it. Im gettin the Hanson bumper for mine as i talked to a guy with the ARB and he said he hates the recessed feature of it, as it makes it hard to use  the winch when ya need it. Trail i have heard they are a lil flimsy and hard to install. Hanson seems to be the only one that i have heard all around good stuff about. One thing with the ZJs is that if ya put the front coils in the rear, it will get you around 3" of lift. Thats what i did for my lift. I then stuck XJ coils of 4.5" lift in front to give me 3" up front. XJ coils in the ZJ always sit lower then they say. So its easy to mix and match stuff around to get that certain look you want. Nice thing about the ZJ is that if ya dont have a winch bumper and still keep that plastic front, is ya can cut it down quite a bit to gain some approach angle for it. Also the mirrors do fold both ways, so no worrys about snapping them off if ya are in a tight spot and need to back up and end up catching it, they will flex flat...I have had mine there before, both ways. One thing i dont like is that i cant hose out the inside of mine, especially after i hit a mud hole and i had to go back through it to get out and a lotta the water in that hole came inside and im still trying to clean it out over a yr later...Other then some thing like that, i love my ZJ, dont know if i would have a TJ after it or not...I have the part time transfercase and in 4hi i seem to be able to climb a lotta stuff with ease, in 4lo its even easier to walk up some thing. I run 31" BFG A/Ts right now for my tires. Good luck with yours and take it wheeling, it will do better then you think it will.

Like i said if it were mine I'd get a 2" spacers, shocks,HD front trackbar and mount from rusty's offroad. For flex use 30" tires and jks front discos. for street and mud with less flex go with 31" tires.

PS are we the only three zj owners here or what?? LOL we need to get more posting...

I think we are the only ZJs in this one. I know theres a couple more out there...but where, i dont know.  Must mean we are the odd balls for having ZJs we actually wheel (and in my case bash up).  Do you have any nerf bars or rock rails on your ZJ? Im lookin to get some, just so i have a lifting point for my High lift. Well more like im tempted to make some. I have seen the Kevins Off road ones and they look good, just if only i could figure out how they attach it to the body i would be set to make my own...Im also in the works on makin my self a roof basket with a provision to hold down my spare tire up there when i need more interior space. Im lookin to also be able to attach my highlift and shovel up there when im done.  Hopefully ill get it started and done here soon and then get some pics up of it.
