Also, 96 I posted a thread here askin for some help with my suspension. Its titled "so confused...whats my lift." I dont know if ya have read it yet, but if ya could and try to help me out that would be great. I am now runnin my stock coils up front w/spacers and in the rear im runnin 94zj front coils and its now sittin nose low. Theres more details how im needin some help in that thread. I know ya have 31s and a 3.5 lift, so i think your probably about the closest one to help me with my issue now...

You know any one that makes some good anti roll bar disconnects for our ZJs or do just about any kit for the TJ work good for us? and do you have some on your 96?? Since i added the front coils to rear its really tweaked my anti roll bar and i dont seem to have much body roll (can lead me to gettin over confident) so to make it back to almost stock would be great...

Hey 96, what ya think about this to leval out my Jeep...
Rustys has some XJ 4.5" lift springs with a 150 Pound spring rate...now if i stick those on my ZJ that will prolly net me around 3" of lift or so right?? Since Zjs are typically heavier... If those do work then i would be sittin leval and i can still use my shocks that i have now, since even with the front coils in the rear, i still have around 2.5" of travel outward till i max out the lenght... Even if those springs net me 3.5" of lift that would work too cuz when i add the winch bumper and winch that will lower me down some more. Just some thing i thought about. what you think?? and yea im gonna look into those HD track bar for the front, as ive needed a new track bar for the last 2yrs...

well after all you ZJ owners say how great they are,i broke down and bought a 96 grand orvis model.bought it mostly for the 5.2 to put in the wrangler but im leaning towards what 96 has done to his.i highly doubt its as capable as a wrangler, but i thought i would see what they are like.so far its great, the only thing i dont like is the full time 4wd in it,but atleast i wont have to shift into it.and i have alot more room with it than a TJ.but atleast i know what to do and what not to do as you guys have tried differnt things with the zj's.all in all i guess im gonna look foward to seeing more ZJ sections in the rag.

A properly set up like 96 has and soon mine, will eat and walk over a TJ with just as much lift. Yes we are a bit heavier, but if its like yours with the V8 that dont matter too much. You will notice that the longer wheel base of the ZJs is much better off then the TJ. If ya are intrested in some mods to do to the ZJ just ask. 96 and my self seem to be doin plenty of them. I have kinda a "home made" lift on mine...Its a mix of junk yard, (soon) XJ and ZJ parts. If ya ever have a question about any thing, dont hesitate to ask on here, one of us or some one is bound to know some thing.

So i talked to rustys off road and they have ZJ 3" lift coils, but they dont have them on the web site, guess they go for some thing around $125 or so. Yet they also told me i was correct when i asked about the 4.5" XJ coils netting my ZJ 3" of lift. So ill be ordering me here soon some XJ coils, a HD track bar, longer brake lines, and a rear track bar drop braket. And in soon i mean prolly withen the next 12 hours or so. so yea come a couple weeks here ill have me a nice set up, and enough room to maybe try and stuff some 33's into that 3" lift i will have soon...

well why put xj springs and not rusty'd 3" zj? I did some looking around and you are right the front to rear swap gets you 3.5 to 4" lift. so with that said. if you added 2" ome front springs with your spacers you should have about that same lift. Donot forget new longer lower control arms.

Grats on your zj, you have just bought the best one of them all!! as far as tjs go the only diference is they are smaller and can get into tighter trails. You can lift a zj as much as 7" and run on 35's so..... as far as mine goes I am happy with my tuff country lift, once i get the rusty's offroad HD trackbar and fron discos it will be fine. I am going to try to run 32's next year as ppl say they will fit. as for your full time tcase they do suck, most owners ook around for a selectable one. From wht i know it's a easy swap. Fourwheeler did it to their project zj.

I orderd the XJ coils since the ZJ arnt on the site and the guy suggested go with the XJ since they were also on sale. I figure if all else i can return them or sell them if they really dont work. I know several people around here that have 4x4s and what not. Rustys said that 3" was the"magic mark" and that arms wernt needed but if i wanted them it wouldnt hurt. SO ill give it a few weeks and then ill prolly order the arms when my savings builds back up some more...

Hey 96, when ya put that 3.5" lift on yours, did you have to deal with any sterring issues at all?? like a drop pitman arm? I just thought about that and last thing i wanna deal with is some bump steer issues...I looked at some sterring upgrades on Rustys, but they seem a bit much for the time being and if a pitman arm drop will work for now ill do that if needed...

at 3.5" lift on a zj you donot need a new pitman arm. The steering is not as good as the truck was stock but you have to take the good with the bad when you lift a truck. All I did was add rusty's HD stabilizer and had the dealership do a 4 wheel alinement. A new trackbar will help even more.

Yea i have a Rancho RS5000 for a stabilizer now. Im used to crappy sterring as my track bar has been shot now for over 2 yrs so she wanders like none other some times goin down the road. I have the HD track bar coming and a rear drop arm kit coming to me along with some longer brake lines. In all i am still cheaper then if i were to have bought a lift kit, i think... If i dont add in the cost of the brake lines and the track bar up front, im at around $450 or so for my lift...so its hopefully gonna be worth it in the end...If not, guess it will be a good learning curve for me...
