I have a 1980 cj7 with 4.5 inch rubicon lift running 33 goodyear MTR's . It has the original 258 with a Weaber carb. Comp cam and Hedman header. 170 or 176 4 speed all factory running gear Dana 30 up front and 20 in rear. My question is what gear ratio do I need to run in my axles to get back to factory or alittle lower gearing. All gearing is still factory for that year cj. I would like to be able to keep up with traffic. I am willing to rev the engine some at highway speeds. I am also thinking to up grading to a centerforce clutch. Anyone running one and if so is it worth the extra money. Thanks for a the help. Keep the muddy side down, at least most of the time JC

that might be good advice for a 4.0 with OD, but way too deep for a 258 without OD. I'd say more like 4.11 or 3.73
