I have a '77 CJ-7 i am putting in a GM 350 with a 700R4 trans and a Dana 300 transfer case. I have the gears so i can run 35's
I have a 4 inch lift and a one inch body lift that was add into the frame when i ordered it. The springs are still under the axles to keep from having put in anti axle wrap brackets.
I will be welding in the brackets for the engine to be mounted on. I plan on running an electric cooling fan for the radiator. How far from the radiator/electric fan should the front of the motor be. How far from the hood should the motor be. Yes i know there needs to be enough room for the Breather. But is there like a rule of thumb to prevent the hood from getting to hot.
THank you for your help Stewart

Engine swaps are all in inches and steel as many as you can. 1 1/2" inches is bare minimum in all areas. Your C7 should have enough room for the water pump. Were you realy need to watch is your distributer on the fire wall. Give your self some room to pull the cap off. The heat on the hood isn't to bad if you get some of the liners that are out there. Make sure to get a V-8 radiator; aluminum is best.
