I have an '02 Wrangler and I am getting ready for a wheel and tire swap.  Does anyone have any input on tire wear for 15" rims versus 16" rims.  Also what kind of  road mileage can I expect out of a set of Swamper TSL's (haven't decided on radial or bias yet), I use my Jeep as a daily driver and spend the weekends playing in the mud.  Should I stick to a milder radial such as a BFG or Goodyear to get the most life for my money?

If your getting a new tire and wheel package keep your stock wheels fitted with a nice all weather street tire in the appropriate size for the lift of your vehicle.  This will maximize tire life and fuel economy.

Get the new tire/wheel package for aggressive off road performance and just get out your jack and swap the tires & wheels before you leave for the trail.  This way you don't have to worry so much about the street performance of an off road tire.  You'll have the best of both worlds and will have better tire wear and performance both on and off the road.

I'd suggest going with a 15" wheel of your choice and the TSL (SAM 12) 31X10.50 if your Jeep is fairly stock.  If you have a lift you can move up in tire size as your Jeep will allow.

Good luck and happy wheeling.

You wont notice much more a differance between 15 and 16 inch rims. Its just the amount of flex your side wall will have. If you have the money, i would say go with what ever mud tire you want, and then have a second set like the other post says for street use. If ya dont have that much money, i would say to not do a bias ply as they wear out fast when its on your street rig. I have some BFG A/T's on my ZJ and i love them for street and 4x4in. If ya want a little bit more aggressive tread, try the BFG Mud Terrains. They have like a 50,000 mile warrenty and i have like 30,000 on my AT's and they still have over half life left. but it just boils down to what you like the most, and what you can afford. Also dont be affraid to talk to a shop about what they have for you, they can be of a lotta help. Good luck.

good points there. Also concider street driveing, If your going to be driveing back and forth to work or just around town go with a AT or MT tire and radial a must unless you plan on buying tires twice a year.
