I love our Jeep, but am a racecar tuner by practice. I appreciate your help on this one.
The other day I noticed a rubber hose hanging from the chassis of my Jeep. Upon inspection I found that this hose had some form of plastic white male-end connector, and the hose led to a connection on TOP of the front differential. Inspection of the hose showed that it has actually been worn open for some time, but still connected to the front diff. I've never seen anything like this, and tried searching for an answer in the Haynes book and found nothing about it. Can y'all tell me what this is, and where it goes to?
Thanks for you time!

That would be the vent hose for your diff. It should be brought up to about the top of your radiator (atleast it is on my TJ) and mounted there. I don't think it's a male connector, rather a filter or breather. They installed it to prevent water being sucked into the diff during deep water crossings. There should be one on your rear diff as well. mine mounts beside my fuel filler hose on my TJ (inside the body). Hope this helps. Pete.

Hey Pete, thank you very much. Vent for the diff huh? So I need to keep this high in the engine compartment then. Very good, I really appreciate it. I can't wait to get some BF Goodriches on it and take it to Assateague Island for trailing.
Thanks again. You've been very helpful!
