i own a 1997 Jeep cheroke sport with 37,000 miles, 4wd, 4.0, automatic. my problem is during slow speeds, when i turn the wheel (left or right), there is a clicking noise coming from the front. it started doing it recently, after i got it lifted and new wheels put on. i put the stock wheels back on, but it still did it. the front diff has new fluid. whats the problem? i have some experience in the automotive field. any help is appreciated. email me at teammezmerize@hotmail.com

Chose not to email - that would defeat the purpose of a public forum to discuss common issues.
1 - front axle universal joint(s)
2 - wheel lugs not tight
3 - New wheels contacting brake caliper(s) when they flex ever-so-slightly (or when slop in wheel bearings are taken up)
4 - bigger meats contacting bodt/suspension/frame elements when turning
5 - you've been dipping into 96ZJ's stash

Better to take it to a garage and get them to look at it. safety reasons.

It's not difficult, well within the scope of most shade-tree types, but if there is any doubt you have in your abilities, YES, take it to a pro. Better yet, find a local who has expertise and have him walk you through it. Ths would be GREAT knowledge to hav under your belt for when you bust one on the trail. You DON'T wan tto be "that guy" who's all helpless and all when one of these takes a shat on a trail ride.
