I can buy for my first jeep project a 1991 jeep cherokee laredo with the 4.0. Motor has 125,000 interior in great shape and there is two holes in the rockers about the size of a baseball. Engine runs great but the lower tranny bolts have worked there way out. front end still works. Has all power everything. Asking price $2000. but i can talk him down to $1700 im sure. What do you all think is this a good deal for my first jeep project. I need it to be a daily driver in the winter when there is snow on the ground and a play toy for mild to moferate fun when i want. Thanks

This jeep was a one owner and then was inherited by my girlfriends cousin and she drove it for 3 months before her husband bought her a new car that was good on gas. But like i said the three bottom bolts in the tranny have worked their way loose. The interior is excellent and there is no other body damage then the two rust holes? Kelley blue book and NaDA BOTH say 1700- 2000 on the value for private sale and 1000 on trade in. Also this laredo has some kind of extra package stock with the fender flares and other trim package. THANKS

I think huge hole in the running boards aren't something you gloss over. remember this is a unibody vehicle. its worth what you'll pay for it, pay what you think its worth to you and put it out of your mind.

YEAH I SUPPOSE it is worth what im willing to spend and hope i make the right decision. I suppose you have a point holes in probably one of the most keyy spots on a unibody vehicle isnt a very good thing THANKS

I have to agree with everyone else here I personaly bought a comanche for 400.00 its a 90 w/4.0 5spd and it too had baseball size holes in rockers 5 days later i went to fix holes and they became 2 & 3 times their size. It would be better maybe to look around a while and find somthing better for your 1700.00 . You still have a couple months before snow...I hope lol

Holes in the unibody!! Havee you ever seen an XJ fold up on the highway at speed? Let alone out wheeling. I wouldn't buy it, I like living.
I guess you could build a sub frame under the thing.
