Water leak

Seeing as this is my first 4WD vehicle much less a Jeep, please bear with me if I ask some dumb questions.  I purchased a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4-door model and there is a water leak that is driving me crazy trying to pin down.  It's limited to the rear passenger seat and seems to either come from under the seat itself leaking into the footwell or from the footwell somehow finding its way under the seat.  It was suggested that maybe the door seals need to be changed but I took my Jeep thru a car wash to find out and did not see any leaks.  I thought about it for a bit and thought maybe the rear windscreen washer line was leaking as I did not see a reservoir in the rear.  Any suggestions?  It seems to be water as it is clear, has no smell (other than the disgusting mildew smell that's beginning to permeate the interior!), and does not feel oily/soapy.  Help.

i've had this happen with my jeep, and another vehicle.  pull the carpet up around the rear wheelwell.  this just might be where the water's coming in, and will not show up in the carwash.  on my jeep, the sealant they use around the wheelwell had a gap.  it let water in.  especially at highway speed when it was raining.  on the other vehicle, i thought it was the sunroof, but sure enough ... it was coming in from the wheelwell.

Hope this helps.

Pete
