i had the same problem with the brute force intake, it will not fit unless you cut it up, and for the $ that was not an option, so i returned mine and fit a cold air intake of a honda civic it works well and was under a 100 bucks.

I agree on the nice Jeep part. You have a couple options here. A) dont use the heat shield (i wouldnt do this...) B) Make your own heat shield C) make a braket or some thing to relocate the filter and heat shield at a differnt angle D) Return it and buy some thing differnt as suggested earlier. Personally for me, since i always love a challenge, i would try to make a new heat shield or relocate the whole thing to make it fit (if possible) if ya dont have much fabrication skills, i would say try to return it and buy like that other suggestion said a Honda style kind...Thats just my 2 cents and another angle how to look at it.

i put in an intake as well, i made my own heat shield....i took a piece of sheet metal. bent were i needed to, hammered it smooth and made a bracket with the same steel...then used tin snips and a dremel to shape it to fit...loks pretty nice if i do say so myself

I drilled a couple holes in my heat shield and mounted the reservoir to it. There was enough slack in the hoses to accommodate this. No need to go hacking up your heat shield.
