I currently own a 1979 CJ-7, built it up, and restored it.  I ordered the skyjacker 4" lift for it, and am ready to install.  I'm currently looking at different wheel and tire combinations.  I want to run 33"X12.5 -14.5".  I'm looking at getting the Mickey Thompson Faux Bead Lock in a 15X10, because I don't intend of doing any serious off-roading, but I like the look.  My intentions for this jeep are more for on-road driving, but not much, its more just a hobby/toy for me in my free time.  If the jeep gets 3,000 Miles a year its lucky.  I was looking at wrapping the wheels w/ Super Swamper SSR's but have heard a few (bad) stories about them, and how they are built for off-road use only, and ride horrible on the road.  So, does anyone have any ideas/suggestions about this combination?  Or, what would you recommend?

Thanks in Advance,

Slip

Swampers are a soft tires, they will wear fast on the road but if you are only putting 3000 miles per year on them they should last awhile. They will have a good hum but if you can stand it they do look nice. I had 33X12.50X15's on 15X10 alloy rims my 97TJ and did not like how wide they were. I switched to 32X11.50X15 Procomp MT and so far love them. I will see what happens by the end of summer.

If you use a bais ply tire they will develop flat spots that will cause a noticeable hop in the tire if they sit for any length of time.  Once the tire heats up enough if will correct itself and ride normally.

Any kind of aggresive mud tire will be loud, poor traction and soft.  The cost of good looks I guess.
