Hello have 1995 stock RIO GRANDE EDITION YJ-i bought 245/75r16 goodyear mt/r and 16x8 wheels with 4 inch backspacing.I wanna keep it stock except for minor lift so wheels/tires will fit-dont know what is cheapest and easier to install or you would recomend 2inch body lift or 2 inch shackle lift-and also which will not affect any front-end/driveshaft ,shifter length, etc geometry

neither and i will tell you why, a body lift will cause you alot of problems both now and in the future and we dont even want to get into what happens if your in an accident, the same goes for the shackle lift, i would go with a quality 2.5 inch suspension lift, you will thank yourself later........................

thats bullsh!t,a body lift will not cause any problems,i have put many on and was in an accident with one going 35,bent a fender and bumper, nothing else happened, theres nothing bad that will happen with them.the only reason people dont like them is the gap or they hear of sombody who dont like them and jump on the bandwagon.theres no reason to waste money on a suspension lift if all he needs is a couple inches, neither will change the geometry, and will easily clear the tires with money for other mods that would make a differnce.and if they were that bad and dangerous, they wouldent sell them or be able to insure your jeep with them on.

What is the height of thise tires? If it is 29 inches or less, no lift is needed.

i've learned from experience, over time a body lift will wear out the frame mounts it will wear out the body, and if your in an accident not a slow moving fender bender it wont be pleasant. NO PROBLEMS YEA RIGHT!

I have a 1979 CJ 7 and tried to install a 1 3/4 inch shackle lift front and rear. (standard front mounted shackles) The change in caster angle was immediately apparent and it drifted from the centerline to the edgeline and everywhere in between. That's my only experience with either. I've only HEARD about body lifts, never tried them, and heard that you can get into problems after 2 inches. I've seen a lot of crashes and have never seen any problems with any body lifts.

is that 30.6 without being on the jeep?if so all you need in an inch or so to clear them.JKS makes a great body lift and its 1.25 inches of lift, plenty of space to fit thoes tires.what kinda off-roading do you plan on doing?is it your daily driver?

the JKS is all you will need.once you put them on it will be around 30 inches tall.that will clear them fine.

both kits should run around 100 dollars.the drivetrain will be fine, your not lifting it up enough to throw anything off.if you go with the shackle lift, make sure you get grade 8 bolts to attach them,no matter what they send or recommend.if you go with the body lift everything that will come in the kit is perfect for the aplication.shackle lift varies on the true lift you will get, weight, life of springs, etc.a body lift will give you exactly what you wat,you are moving the body up from the frame, and will give you a true 1" or 2" depending on which one you choose.

i find that the body lif it useable if its not more then 2" but a shackle lift is not a good idea remeber they pay alot of money for engneers to desine this stuff i would recomend lift springs this the only way to lift it corectly the extra $ will be worth it in the end
