I will be retiring from the Navy in 2 1/2 years and my gift to me is a built from the ground up Jeep.  Kit cars use donor vehicles but this will be built from no donor.  Everything will be ordered on line or from a catalog.  This list has taken a WHOLE LOT or research and time.  My q is Am I missing anything?  I know the list is long but there are a lot of parts that make up the whole.  I didn't list the sources or cost because..... well just because.  I did add $1500.00 to the goal amount of savings for misc stuff I did miss.

Hello in ref. to what you are about to in bark on.  I am rebuilding a 77 CJ-7.  I know that you will drop about $3500 on the nv4500 ( If you go with a 700R4 the price tag is about $1500 Novak Adapters) ,  $2500 (this includes shipping)  level one competition frame MAtkins Extreme frames,  $400 on a painless wiring harness,  Axles front D44Pro through Dynatrac with there steering drag link and tie rod is $4200 and there Prorock 60 rear was about $4100 also with this price tag you will get disk brakes front and rear and also a parking brake then add in shipping and you end up with about a $9,000 bill.     I would go with Detroit front and rear because they have a better survival.  Also you can get a rebuilt dana 300 for about $850 according who you go through.  YJ suspension $900 OK New Jersey.

My thing is why dont you find a donor vehicle that you can get the title off of and also some of the reusable things off of. Espeacilly if you live in a state that has pretty strict laws on the exaust systems and other thing on vehicles.  Like Steering column and then just buy a new steering wheel instead of a $350 tilt steering and then also go buy a new steering wheel.    I am also in the Navy.  I am trying to get this built before i get married or end up with a child or some unforsen accident.  I am stationed in Italy.  Sounds like you have everything listed but the price tag i am seeing here is about $25000 or $30000 to build this project inless you find  a donor.  PLease write back I am curious
