Stock axles, about to install 360 v8 and t18 trans. will the dana 30 hold the extra torque. Should i invest in upgrades or invest in a dana 44, if so who would i contect for a front end. hope the upgrades will hold, have time and money invested. appreciate any info. thanx david

I hear the scout 44s swap in ok. were it mine, might as well break the 30 first, your not going to be able to get anything for it regardless. a trutrac is not made to handle 35s they specificly say nothing bigger than 33s

Ehh, it's a crap-shoot. Depends how you drive it. I had a puss Dana 25 with a Power-Lok last behind a GM 350 and an SM420 for two years with only one broken shaft. Drive it sanely and it will last forever. Abuse it and you'll blow it apart. Keep your eyes on the smallish 260 U-joints. There are axle kits out there to upgrade to Dana 44-sized joints (760x) but your ring gear is small so keep the bouncing up climbs to a minimum.
