My friend has a 1983 J10 he bought at an auction for 1700.  He has added a 4'' lift and a roll bar.  He wants to add 35'' tires later. It is a good hunting and fishing type truck.

Cappa is a J-truck fan.  I'm surprised he hasn't chimed in.  Have you seen his last blog?  Or, if you are new here, searched for his "Hot Dog" project?

Me, I'm into 715s and 725s, but not the normal civilian trucks.

Of course I like J10's, after all they are a JEEP aren't they?  A couple of years ago I was permitted to tow home a '76 sb for nadda and it's actually very complete but in need of lots of loving TLC.  It's in the line up of projects out by the ol' pole barn, rusting some more.

Full size Jeeps are bad ass.  My dad has a J2000 that was customized in the 70's.  Its got a 360 .030 over with headers, a 2 barrel carb, t18, dana 300, 3:73 limited slip, 31 10.50 15's, bed cover, and an extra 30 gallon gas tank.  He could run 13 high in the 1/4, take it in the hills to cut fire wood, and get 16 mpg on the highway.  He's put over 500,000 miles on it.  I wish they still made them.

when i was a kid, a neighbor a couple of doors up had one. that thing was way cool!! he had it lifted with 33" tires (huge by 80's standards) and a built chevy 350 with headers and glass pacs.
