Hi All,

I'm new to this forum but not new to jeeps. My 98 tj sport with 120K on it has got problems. The clutch pedal feels squishy and the jeep screams horribly when it is pushed in.  Is it time for a total replacement? where to get the parts? Price?  budget is shot and I would like to have the jeep running if possible for the snowy days here in the midwest. Luckily it is not my daily driver,  got a saturn for work commute.  Mods are minimal, 31's jet stage 1 chip, borla header, K&N drop in filter.  Occasionally used to tow a trailer.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

That would be the throwout bearing squeeling like a pig... and you probably need a slave cylinder. Parts are available everywhere, AZ, Advance, 4WD.com or Quadratec. I wouldnt hazard aguees onthe clutch itself but the parts usually all wear out about the same time.  You'll have to pull it to assess the cluthc plate and if it's looking toasted replace it then, that way you only have to take it apart once.
