The torque specified for the bands is with that goofy extension, so you have to do the algebra to figure out what it should be without it. Second theres not a lot of room to get a torque wrench in there. On my Grand the only way to reach the stupid things is the little tool extension. I broke down and bought the thing. The part numbers in tha manual.

Actually I got to it without the extension and it was easy.........only because I had the transfer case skid plate off to replace the rear trans mount. Luckily the manual I had gave both torque figures, one with the extension one without.

Ok, in my quest to get rid of wobble/vibration from rear of this TJ after raising it with Procomp 2" lift springs (really only1.5") I have replaced the transmission rear mount (ouch, $72 at dealer...NAPA jobber didn't have it). That didn't help. Thinking I am missing something simple I jacked it up and ran it in gear up to 30MPH watching wheels, tires driveline etc. Swapped a marginal tire to front. Didn't help. This morning I loaded 240lbs of wood pellets in the back to lower the back to orginal height (almost made it to orgianal height with that weight) to see if wobble vibration would go away. It was only slightly better. So then I gave up and lowered the tranfer case by shimming the skid plate with 4 washers on each bolt. Now it is better by 75% but still noticeable. I guess I can live with it. At least I am for the time being, unless someone else can give me another avenue to explore. By the way my driveshaft looks straight while running on jackstands.

how much did the washers measure out to be?and $72 dollars, they raped you on that part, when i got one it was like $36 dollars give or take.but you might have to get a t-case lowering kit.get the skyjacker one, works great, real easy to put in and comes complete.but even though you have say 2 inches of lift,it makes for greater angle, and then when you add the bigger tires it also affects it as well.got atleast an inch,if thats what you have already, its back to the drawing board lol.you could also look at the motor mounts, the torque from taking off from a dead stop might create a wobble, just a guess, somthing to check.but measure the washers and see what u added.

I am going to guesstimate about 1/2". I followed this direction how to do it http://www.4x4xplor.com/t-casedrop.html I even used same Orchard Supply bolts and washers too. He used three washers, I used four. I had the same idea about engine mounts also. So I opened the hood and powerbraked it to see if engine jumped around much. It didn't so I am assuming they are ok. But, you know what happens when you assume..............LOL! I have 10.50x31's on it but I wouldn't think tire size would change with the driveshaft angle. This thing is sure fun to work on anyway as long as the weather is good.

when i had a 95 yj rio grande, and put 31's on it i could tell it plled it out of the slip yoke a llittle bit.if a half an inch helped,id go with an inch, that should take care of it since you said it 75%better.i have an extra shop for my quads and mx bikes, but the jeep usually takes up my room and time.even though its warm in there, the snow and slush still falls on your face at just the right time lol.and it always seems when its nice out,the jeep always runs great.but hopefully you get that vibe out,i know how annoying it gets.good luck
