i have a 78 cj with a 304 and a turbo 400 tranny the tranny is and amc model my problem is when i try to start the engine the starter is hitting the flywheel and making a terrible noise i have the spacer between tranny and motor still is hitting also the shop that did my motor says output shaft on tranny is pushing against crank and burning out thrust bearings no one seems to be able to fix this prob the tranny ran fine behind my 258 but since the motor change i havent been able to use jeep is there a different size output shaft for these motor to tranny hookups am losing my mind want to get in the woods please help me fellow jeepers thank ; Grant
