I'm trying to figure out what exhaust to get for my 95 4cylinder wrangler. It has to pass smog in Cali unfortunatly. I want headers and pipe. Anyone have any good places to start or have done this before lol. I was thinking banks or borla headers and or pipe. thanks

first thing to do is look at your stock exhaust, look for the most constrictive point and make sure whatever you get takes care of it. I've been thinking of a header for my 4.0l, but the real problem with my exhaust isn't the header, its the narrow U bend right after the header. While banks is a good company, and I'm sure thier header is great, it still dumps into that restrictive U. Pacesetter, a company I always ascociated with cheap mustang exhaust looks like thay have a header that takes care of my real problem. If all your worried about is the header, get long equal length runners that look like they have the easiest bends to them.

but will smoothing a restricive u bend take too much backpressure out...
i know backpressure wants to be eliminated as much as possible, but there has to be some in the system as a perfect balance for the exhaust system to run efficiently
i dunno much about four bangers...but i say drop a 4.0 L in there HAHA i am yanking ya'll....just wondering about backpressure though

you might also try clifford performance if i remember right they had a few four banger headers on there that looked god. thenagain i look at so much crap on here it may have been a diffrent site. Course if its more power you want you could always try feeding the little hamsters trapped in your engine

Go with BANKS brother. They cost a little more but they're way worth it.

I've been thinking about getting a gibson Stainless steel catback so I was also looking at their headers.Looks pretty good.
