I have a 80' model CJ7, with an inline six, sr4 trans, dana 300 transfercase ,dana30 front axle, and a model 20 rear axle. I will probely swap in a 350 and new trans first sign of trouble with engine.I need some help/advice with problems I would find when installing chevy axles in this jeep.( My current ratio is 30.7,it realy sucks!and I only 31's now. )Steering, pinion angle, spring perches ect. ( I would probably switch to YJ springs)  I would also like to know the differance in the track width as i like the jeep beeing narrow, it helps snaking through the trees. I want to run 35's,the chevy axles already have 45.6's and a detroit in the rear. Or I could compleatly rebuild my axles with new gears lockers, one piece axle shafts in rear and so on . I found all the parts I want to use for 1300 dollars!,parts are made by yukon gear. The chevy axles are 600 dollars.I have most of the fab skills needed for the swap, and none that I would trust to set up new gears. I am leaning toward the chevy axles.

P.S. any help will be appreacetaed.

 Thanks walter

sounds like you should wait and replace everything in one shot from one source vehicle. full sized axles wont be good for snaking though the trees. you can get a D44 thats a bolt in narrow track from an old jeepster comando. I'd rather chance setting up gears on unshure skill than sping perches, wheel tracking, custom steering, pinion angles, etc....
