1777.1

I purchased a Golen engine 6 months ago and it came defective from the factory with a reversed main seal. I dutifully documented the matter to Chad Golen's satisfaction. After many phone calls and being put on hold for extended times I still have not been made whole. I can understand that not everything can be performed perfectly, however I cannot understand why this matter has not been resolved. The cituation has tainted my opinion of Golen and how they do business.  I can only assume that Golen has so many warranty issues that they cannot possibly cover them all or is so prophet minded that they are unwilling to honor there warranty without litigation. I am regretful that I did business with this derelict company. It was 218.$ to fix the problem. I would think that is a cheap price to pay to avoid the bad press. I have also found out that they have problems with the heads on their engines. I can be sure they will not warranty this either if I should have this problem in the future. Regretfully T.K. Bergman.

wow, nice to know. I was thinking of getting one from JDs Offroad in NY, For $3500. Don't need or want ANY hassles especially at that price. Didn't JPs engine seize up the top end due to no oil?

Something fishy is going on here. Both of these guys just joined. Plus they don't seem to hang around either. Like 1 post each. What are the chances they both had problems at the same time...pretty slim. I'm thinkin' BS. I'll look into it.

I'm still in the preliminary planning stage- I'm sure JD's would back the engine. Just got a mite worried, that's a nice chunk of change, and I want to invest it in my ZJ not gamble.

OMG you are going to pay 3500 usd for that engine?? I have some swamp land on the moon to sell ya!! LOL For way less then that I can have my local engine shop build me a 4.0 with just as much or more power! That's alot of money in my opinion........

I will be happy with the motor, i dont know many people or shops in arizona and im not to savy with building engines myself so hey i did what i could do so leave me be :-)  more power than the 4.2 had and well that piece of #### had a cracked block by the motor mount so thats no good.  thanks for the post though about your shop and good for you that you know ppl that can build you stuff, happy for ya!  later zj.
