Is five and a half inch lift kit too much for a primary daily driver?

I guess it depends on your comfort level. I put mine up 3" then added 33's. Now I have to worry about parking garages and clearance in the city. Handling will be affected as well, so you won't be driving as fast. But if those things don't matter go for it.

i also have a 99 tj, and mine has a 2 " bodylift, and a 2-3" suspension lift(it came on the jeep when i bought it)and im rolling around on 35/12.50's, with that being said if its going to be a daily driver i would say stay away from the 35's unlss you are going to do some axle upgrades, like the dana super 35 kit or higher, as far as the height,if your comfortable with it, and dont need to park in al bunch of parking decks lift it, just kep in mind the higher you go the higher your center of gravity thus making it easier to roll, hope this was helpful
