This is my first post! I found a jeep cj-7 1977 in a back yard and asked if they want to sell it? He asked me what do you think it is worth? I told him I don't know! How do you get a value on a CJ-7 that has sat in a back yard for three years? It has some surface rust, Motor did run??? Frame good. All of the blue book has is newer jeeps. Any help please!!!

since no one has responded ... here's my 2 cents.

go on ebay ... look at the autotrader (or whatever local car selling mag you can find).  get a feel for the price.

cut that in half or maybe 3/4 depending on how much work you think it needs.

regardless ... sounds like you could get yourself a sweet jeep for not to much $$.

Offer him whatever YOU think it's worth to you. Then you can barter from there.  

I bought my 82 cj7 running with hard top used on a farm for hunting for 1000.00. I really didnt hesitate bought it right away.whats a cj worth? Depends on how bad u want 1.Good luck!  

Just bought a 77 CJ-7 after looking for the "right" one for a while. Minimal rust. Give 2100 for it. Has good tires, and a 302 in it that will need a rebuild soon, but runs fine. T-150 and dana 20 works fine. Some T Case shifter slop as usual. But Everything works and everything is there. He wanted 2200 but knocked 100 dollars off if I let him keep the deer feeder off the back. No top or doors though. Looking for some hard half doors????
