I just bought a 1988 jeep wrangler a few months ago. It has a dana 35c but i don't know what the gear ratio is or my front dana 30 the rears don't have a tag any where can anybody help me.

I don't know for sure but I thought that all YJ's with the same enginge, tranny, and diff combo's had the same gears. You could probably check your service manual or decode your VIN number.

there are different ratios for that axle. to find out just put it on jackstands, put your tranny in neutral, then spin your driveshaft and mark your tires. If for one revolution of your tire your driveshaft spins about 4 times you have 4.10 gears, etc...

I WAS IN THE SAME DILEMA WITH MY 91' WRANGLER YJ. I GAVE MY MACHANIC THE VIN NUMBER AND LATER HE CALL ME BACK AND TOLL ME "U HAVE A DANA 35 WITH 3.07 GEARS...........
