I have a 93' Grand cherokee in pretty good condition. I put a 3 inch skyjacker lift with quick disconnects. Im looking to add more power to it and want to do a couple of things. My friend gave me a garret t28 turbo and i was wondering if their was any way to install it on my jeep?

Not sure about adapting it, but from what I found on the web ... it came off a Nissan Skyline (4 cylinder).  I don't think it would be a good match for your GC.

your not gonna get boost from a turbo until around 3500 rpm, lower rpm torque and horsepower would be alot better for a 4x4 in most conditions i.e., rock crawling, pulling, etc. if ya wanted to go extreme supercharge, if not headers, ignition, port and polish your intake manifold and other mods add horses and torque. Id leave the turbos to the imports, but thats my opinion

I used to work with a fellow Jeeper that talked about a 4.3L kit for the 4.0. Complete with new pistons and what not and you just had to bring the head to a shop to barrel out, course I've done some pretty extensive searching on my own for Jeep products and have never seen it. But he said it was a substantial increase in hp.

Hey, I just wanted to say if you want a turbo put a turbo on it. You may have some fun finding all the proper gear, but dont just be like everyone else, I always say! Turbos can be fun! I am currently putting together a 1986 jeep that will be just that turbo chargered. And you know why? Because before there was rock crawling some of us that realy enjoy the pleasures of owning jeeps just want to have fun without destroying our prized possesions. I just want to restore my jeep and without putting dana 60 up front and a 70 rear.

A turbocharger was made for CJ's back in the day.  It was for the 232 and 258 inline six.  I'm pretty sure its not made today though.  It was made by Randall Engineering, Mesa,AZ, and used a Rajay turbo.  It cost somewhere around a grand.  If you have the Jeep Cj-5 and Cj-7 4x4 performance portfolio(1976-1986) its on pg. 57
