I own a 2003 Liberty Renegade. I, too, have a sense of humor. I'm a little disappointed that my vehicle is referred to as the laughing stock of Jeepdom. No articles on build-ups or tech for the 3.7 V6. Only jokes. I do see the humor, but it is still a JEEP.  Now you are encouraging Cletus and Cooter (havjeepwiltravel) to add their two cents.

If you don't like the vehicle, don't buy it. You don't see any Liberty or Rubicon owners bad mouthing Cherokees or CJ's. Get a life!!

If so many have misinterpretted the statements in your magazine there must be a problem with the writer.   Maybe the writer lacks writing skills to convey thoughts or maybe he does not know how to write something humerous.

Or are you calling those who don't "understand" stupid.   It has to be one or the other.  It was poorly written or we are stupid?  Which do you think it is?

I read the story twice.   You insulted one type of Jeep owner to make points with another type of Jeep owner. It was a stupid thing to do.

I think you got too much time to stir the pot and put words in others mouths. Just get over it.

warden marc u seem like just the kind of guy the mag is talkin crap about. the rubicon is a pimp ride. The stereo typical guy that buys them (YOU and your IVE GOT MONEY SO I MUST BE COOLER THAN EVERYONE ELSE ATTITUDE) screws it up for the guy who doesnt have a lot of money and wants to learn more about jeeps and how not to spend alot of money and have fun in his Rubi. Dont u have better things to do like suck the center out of a twinkie. The JP Mag and its editors were right on with you!

No, he didn't say readers that didn't understand were stupid. But alot of us think you are now. I guess whoever wrote the Bible must have been stupid because there are so many interpretations of it. That is your logic isn't it? Get a rag for your dripping *** and drop it already. The more you spew forth from your mouth on this subject, the more unintelligent you sound. Who knows, maybe you do know alot about Jeeping, but we wouldn't know it because you're wasting time beating a dead horse. So what if a writer writes about his opinion? Isn't that what they do? write? from a perspective? God forbid a writer should speak his mind right? But that's just your logic again isn't it?

Hello All,

I am new to Jeep.  I have been looking for one all year.  I finally found a stock '94 YJ and think it is great.  My Husband had a '01 Cobra Mustang that was his baby.  Well the baby had some issues and I talked him into giving it up.  He just traded it on a brand new '03 Rubicon.  We have gone from having an F250 and 2 mustangs in our garage to the F250 and now 2 Jeeps.

We are total newbies to the Jeep thing.  But are hoping to have some fun and hope this is the place to learn the latest and get to know what the Jeep thing is all about.  We would never thumb our nose at anyone or even think we know it all about wheeling.  Our truck has 4wd but has only been locked in twice.  Once was this summer when we were axle deep in the sand at Lake Powell.  Our boat was attached.  That was not fun but we got out, now the hills they have there for wheeling looked fun but with the extra cab long bed it was a no go.  But now with the Jeeps this could get exciting.  I would however like to read this article and make a determination for myself on what was meant by it.

I think I am going to inherit the Rubi and my daughter will soon be 16 and thinks the YJ is all hers.  We will see.  I have found alot of humerous posts here and good information as well.

All you died in the wool hard Wheelin' Jeep Fans give us newbies a chance before you assume we are all bad.  Because we all know what can happen when you assume something.

I wish you well with the jeeps!

One comment ... only using your 4wd twice is hard on your truck.  Find a loose gravel road at least once a month and use it.  Make sure you drive for a few miles so everything comes up to temperature.  Your truck will be happier for the use.
