i am about to put my cj up for the winter so she can be nice and strong for next year. i am doing new suspension window and door seals, sound system, carburator and whatever else i can squeeze in. Question is. Should i just replace bad wires or totally rewire? If i should do complete rewire should i just by a harness set to run my 350. I Know that wouldnt be easiest but definately more pricey. Will be asking ?'s as I go.

Degraded wiring can be a source of many problems. I had enough to justify a complete replacement. On my CJ-5 I chose to buy a brand new harness with a full replacement plug and play kit (ordered from my local auto parts store). It was pretty painless, you just have to be patient and methodical and follow the instruction for both removal and replacement. I went really slow making sure I wouldn't have to undo any work, so it took me a bit longer working by myself. Especially the extra work to access certain pull-thrus. You can google jeep wiring harness kits (add your model designation to the search) for some ideas of what's available and what to expect.

Painless wiring mite have a complete kit to do your jeep. check them out. complete re wiring mite be expensive now, but worth it in the long run. preventive mantainance is wat i would call it.

You'll probably need to upgrade the springs with the 350. Or traction bars. Spring wrap might be an issue depending on tire size. Make sure the brake lines, vent tubes, etc. end up with plenty of slack too.

the guy who said he would do it has it on his cj5. looks good and he has pics of it's capabilities. plus it is on a few sites, including the hump n bump, the event that happens just north of Vegas. i think i'm going to do it. That's if i can get his  # again. my wife tossed it. She says accident I say conspiracy.lol
