Hello,

I have a 1995 Jeep Wrangler Rio Grande 4 banger. I have done some trading and came up with some 32x11.5 bfg mud terrians. The jeeps suspension in stock. I would like to get away with a 2.5'' suspension lift. Is this possible? I don't do any wheeling, just Silver Lake Sand Dunes. The rims I have are American Racing baja's so the stick out a little bit. Any advice?

If the tires stick out enough, it should be fine. I'm running 33x10.50's with 3 inches of suspension lift, and no body lift, on my 94 YJ w/ the 4-banger. The back tires rub on the tub when I'm loaded down with gear and flexing the suspension but that's it. I did trim about an inch off the flares though. I do have a lot of bolt on armor though winch and tire carrier, rocker gaurds etc. If you don't have any of that, you may get a little more than what the lift kit claims with the 4 cyl. My only idea before you lift it would be to put them on and turn the wheel lock to lock and see how close they come to hitting the leaf springs. The springs will move a little, but it may give you an idea.

Thanks for the info. What kind of lift did you recommend? I was thinking a 2.5 of some brand and maybe using 1'' shackles.

Thanks for the help!

I'm running a 2.5" Rubicon Express standard duty lift with Rubicon Express 1/2" lift shackles front and rear. It rides really nice, and has great off-road manners. I'm very pleased with it. The brake line extensions that are included are nice too. You don't have to mess with trying to get more slack out of the factory ones. The only thing is it doesn't come with a rear track bar relocation bracket. I know a lot of people ditch the rear track bar but I'm a little leery of doing that with my Jeep not only being a daily driver, but my only vehicle. JP did an install of the Rubicon Express lift on their project Why-J. The black diamond kit is good too. My brother is running it on his YJ. I think it's a 3.5" but not sure. I don't have any experience with any other lift kits, but if you go with a well known brand you shouldn't have any problems. Whatever lift you do choose, until the springs settle it's going to be a really rough ride.
