JP mag,october 2007, grand np231 swap

When T-cases go Bad!!You cover when a NV247 die's and a np/nv 249 will lock-up and be a part time case in high range when it die's (that will still get you home!)Have you heard what will happen to a NP242 when it fail's? Us easterners need our street 4wd's when the snow hit's and part-time for off-roading.Many are swaping to NP242 in their Grand's and Tera-Flex told me its a direct swap for my 1997 Grand Cherokee? I have found replacement viscous coupler's, but no clutch pack's and/or chains to rebuild a 242. I assume the clutches drive the full-time drive, will I be able to have some sort of drive to get me out of the wood's??? P.S I am an old VET, and now disabled. Your magazine is the greatest ever printed!!!ITS kept me alive through the hardest times,and do not stop the april fool's s edition, you got me good the last time! The Jetson's air car would be no fun off-road!!!
