Huber needs to do a bit more research, especially with respect to the origins of the KDF Wagon (vw166.com). Perhaps he missed Jay Leno's segment : Jay Leno's Garage - Tatra T87

Maybe he's talking about a VW thing Alan may have posted on some other site?
I dunno. Give the guy a break. Who's even heard of Tatra, let alone know the intimiate deatails of its T87? Wasn't that a Russian tank, anyway?
He gets paid to lay our our stories and in my opinion he's one of the best in the business. I'll cut him some slack on crap like this.

Found it! The thing about what websites he visits....kinda nitpicky.
I guess, if you absolutely have to have something to whine about.

Facts are facts ... not nit picky. As a long time subscriber I seem to recall you nitpicking, or whining, a number of times also. Consider it constructive criticism and learn instead of whining.

I just consider the dissemination of misinformation about the VW like the Obama administrations approach to government. And if you never heard of Tatra then you are not aware of the Dakar rally. Hey I've given you guys kudos when you deserve them, like for the editorial on the Obama government. On another note, the Nov. Four Wheeler has a letter from a SPC Powell, in Afganistan. He is requesting 24V lights for MRAPS. I was just wondering if JP and Four Wheeler could get together and request donations for the cause. I sure would be willing to pitch in $50, or so.

I refer you to the site I listed... www.fmylife.com. Go there. Read. You'll forget all about this Tatra nonsense... lol

More glaring of an error would be the advice given by Hazel to "avoid the offset" '80s SJ AMC model 20 rear axle with the Quadra-Trac option.
The offset Quadra-Trac rear axles were used behind the BW t-cases in the '70s SJs. And those were all Dana 44s. The '80s SJ that had AMC model 20 rears and Quadra-Trac used the 219 t-case, which did not require the offset rear axle like the BW cases.

Uhh, where is this at? Best I can tell is that you have conveniently mis-quoted an answer in the Your Jeep section in the October '09 issue, page 93.
And just so there is no confusion, Jeep used the Quadra-Trac name on '71-'79 FSJs with the BW1339 (offset), the '80-'85 FSJs with the NP219 (straight through), and the '85-'91 FSJs with the NP228 (straight through)...and ya know what, they still use the Quadra-Trac name today on some full-time model Jeeps.

Yes, in Your Jeep, question titled "Her first Jeep" in the paragraph bolded "Wagoneer AMC Model 20".
Since the Wagoneer AMC Model 20 rear axle only came in the '80-'85 Wagoneer and the Quadra-Trac option in those years used the 219 or 228 t-case and both of those did not require an offset rear axle, that makes the last part of the paragraph where it states "some were offset" not correct.
It was an example of a nit-pick. It doesn't really matter because if an offset Wagoneer AMC Model 20 rear axle doesn't exist, then nobody will find one to avoid.

Ahhh! I got it now!
I'll be sure to give Hazel a whoopin.
Now about the VW and Huber. I still don't get the complaint. He made no claims about the KDF wagon as far as i can tell. Help me out here. Is the complaint about what vw166.com has written on it's site? If so, sorry, we have no control over that.
