No lift "Series"

I had wrote on the "No lift YJ with 40's" thread about a possible Xj project doing the same thing as you did with the TJ or YJ. I was thinking it would cool if you could try and do a series with ( like the mentioned xj ) some other jeeps as well. I think you guys are on to something here with what you have done so far. Besides, not feels better than a sawsall, a pack of blades, and some perfertly good sheet metal being cut up.

I used to have a xj that, unfortunately I couldn't get started on as a project ( had to move ), I was look at it with some of the ideas from no lift tj built and figured maybe 32'' x 10.5'', 33'' x 9.5, or some 33'' x 10.5 could be made to fit. I would have had to build some new sheet metal fenderwells for the front and was thinking something similar to what had been done to the no lift yj in the rear. It would also needed some unibody stiffening and some sort of reinforcement at the upper and lower arms mounts ( seen to many get wrecked ). But a back yard fabricator could easily pull this off and look cool doing it.

Sercetly, I think it would fun to do all this to a Jeep Liberty just to shock soccer moms with excessive fender cutting on a perfectly good SUV.

Oh, come on, where I live, up here in Kelowna, B.C., Canada, They sell for about $25,000 to $30,000, and there is nothing better than taking a costly SUV, a sawzall, and about an hour; and see what happens. Take a picture of it, send it to JEEP, to inspire them in re-design it into less of a soccer mom/man with no balls vehicle. I really just want this poor jeep to feel like a jeep again. We must take pity on it and cut the fenders out to aleast fit some 31".LoL

Well with some cutting of the fenders a couple of inchs i fit 33/12.5 tires on it with the wheels bs of about 4.5-3.75 inch it look pretty good aslo the rear end would need to be lifted a little maybe a block or add a leaf but the back rubbed over bumps http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=21203335&albumID=3401102&imageID=60274298

How much lift? Did you have any problems with rubbing up front? At the rear, where does the tires rub? Do you think some good quaility wheel spacers would solve the rubbing? If you didn't have that little bit of lift, what would get in the way? On the one I had ( it was a four door ) I was thinking about moving the axle a few inches back and yes, I know the gas tank would have to been relocated. I am a big fan of what jeep mag. has done with the No Lift YJ, TJ, and the Lower 40 JK jeeps. Most trucks and SUVs to me look better with Little to no lift, and since 50% of off road fun to me is fabbing and building most of my own stuff, which is needed for projects like these, I get all giddy inside seeing it done.

mine is a four door with no lift but now it has the 4.5 RC and the front didnt rub after smaking the pinch weld in flat but the back did the tire hit the fender on any little bump thats why the back would need a block or add a leaf like 2 inchs
