Broken Transfer Case

I had a U joint give way going down the interstated the other day.  The driveshaft got put into my muffler and the stoppage of the drivetrain at 70 mph destroyed my transfer case.  The Case its self is actually broken.  I am in search of a transfer case to replace it, hopefully the transmission is still good.  Anyway i was wondering what the interchange was on these transfer cases.  Its a 1998 Jeep Wrangler 6cyl 5 spd.  What other models use this transfer case.  I have only found one case in my area here in southern illinois and they want $650 for it.  I was hopping to find something a lil more affordable.  Any help that anyone can give is greatly appreciated!!!
