1988 Wrangler 4.2L Valve cover leak

I just purchased a 1988 Wrangler with the 4.2L engine and it has a valve gasket leak. I am thinking about just changing the OEM valve cover with a new one and am not sure if i should buy another one of the plasctic ones or spend a little more to get a aluminum cover??? Also the jeep thing is new to me. I have heard that the 4.2L motor is a good one any feedback or advice greatly appreciated. thanks
