have 89 yj since new, want to put a full set of new poly bushing, the question is how much of a body lift can i put in before other modifications kick in?

you wont want to go any higher than 3 inches, and the body lift kit should have everything you need in it. personally i wouldnt go any higher than 1 1/2 inches. the poly body lift by daystar (i think) is a very good 1 in body lift and i am very happy with it.also check your states lift laws to see what they say about a body lift, you can see the laws at rough countries web site

89, I agree with redsand, I wouldn't go any higher than 105 inches.  Go with Daystar definitely.
